Okay so we have a similar thread over at the Zelda board, so I thought, why not? XD

So, what do you think the next Metroid will be? We know the Prime series is over (at least for now), and that Retro is going to take a little break from developing for Nintendo, but still, the question remains.

I think a 2D Metroid for the DS will be next on the agenda. Fans have been wanting one for a while. Maybe the long-rumored Metroid Dread?

Indeed, I fully support you on that one. In fact, they've already hinted the Metroid Dread project in Prime 3, so I wouldn't really be surprised if Retro would be up to something on the DS as we speak.

I would absolutely love that!I would play it as long as I could.But it should have puzzles and hard bosses.

I'm also waiting for a 2D DS Metroid. Let's just hope this Dread project gets finished.

I agree; they need a 2D Metroid game for the DS. Hopefully, it'll take place after Fusion. I've been wondering what the hell happened to Samus after she left the BSL station. It also needs Wi-Fi.

I completly agree with Lukar. (Metroid Fusion is the only Metroid game I currently own, and it's needs a sequel)

Well sweeties, I'm praying that the next Metroid game is 2D. I would love to see how the story goes after Metroid Fusion, since there aren't any more Metroids left. We'll except for the clones.

Yeah, a 2-D game for the DS would be pwnsome. Lately all there have been were Prime games!

I like the Prime games to an extent, but if we have to wait this long for a new fully-Japanese Metroid game, it has to be teh pwn. Otherwise, Nintendo just screwed up on yet another franchise. (Pokemon's already dying because of repetition; but I still like it, of course)
