Talking about the games in general, not just the Pokémon. (Some people say newer generations are crap because new Pokémon look like crap. That's prejudice. =S)

Anyway, what generation do you think it's the best? R/B/Y (I), G/S/C (II), R/S/E+FR/LG+C/XD (III), or D/P/P (IV)?

The third one was a good one. Of course, you needed like three consoles, seven games, and two types of cables to catch them all, XD but I like how it got that expanded.

Still, in terms of gameplay, you don't see many upgrades in Pokémon, but I like the fact that in Generation II you get to return to Kanto.

In general, though, I like the IV Generation. The story may be repetitive, but I find the competitive gameplay much better, with the physical/special split thing, and many new good Pokémon (Togekiss 8D).

So, yeah, in terms of what you want, which is your favorite generation?

I don't feel like going through all of mine, but I do know that on Score Hero, my best score is for All Star on Medium difficulty; it's 123,200, and it's - for now, atleast - the highest score for that song and difficulty. ^^

Welcome to Nintendo Net Forums v2! As you can see, we're sporting a great new design and a lot of new features as part of our upgrade to MyBB 1.4.

Rather than type out a long list of features that are included in the upgrade, I'll direct you to the official MyBB website for information on all the exciting new additions.

For those of you who preferred the old forum theme, we have plans to port it over to MyBB 1.4 in the near future, so please bear with us!

Another thing to note is that the Rules have been rewritten - all current and new members NEED to read them carefully.

As with any upgrade, there are bound to be some glitches. If you run across any, please let us know by posting in this thread.

In the coming days we will be implementing a structured warning system (not that we ever need to use it ), as well as a replacement system for the Friend Code Exchange forum. Stay tuned!

Again, welcome back to NN and have fun posting!

When we come back up, you'll have your first glimpse at NNv2, as the forums will feature the new design and a few other changes. There will also be several new features in MyBB 1.4 that are not present in our current version, which I will go over in more detail after the upgrade.

NOTE

In this review, I do NOT review the multiplayer aspects of the game, since I haven't actually played multiplayer yet.

Game Info
Game: Guitar Hero: On Tour
Platform: Nintendo DS
Developer: Vicarious Visions
Publishers: Activision; Red Octane
Genre: Music
Number of players: 1-2 (Wireless local multiplayer)
ESRB rating: E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) (Lyrics)
Release Dates: 6/22/08 (NA); 6/25/08 (AUS); 7/18/08 (EU)

Two months ago, a new version of Guitar Hero was released. No, I'm not speaking of Guitar Hero Aerosmith for the Wii- what I'm talking about is Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS. You're probably thinking, "WHAT?!?!?! Guitar Hero on a portable system?! This game HAS to suck!" Well, to tell the truth, you're saying the opposite of what needs to be said about On Tour. Read on to see- er, read what I mean.

Controls

This is where most people were skeptical when On Tour was announced; how will you play the game when you can't use a guitar controller? Well, the creative minds at Red Octane have created the [url=http://dsmedia.ign.com/ds/image/article/876/876354/guitar-hero-on-tour-20080523011415206_640w.jpg]Guitar Grip[/i], a peripheral that plugs into the DS's Game Boy Advance slot. The "GG" is very innovative; not only does it bring the GH experience to the DS, but it also lets you change "skins" and make it look better or worse. To play the game, you hold the DS sideways like a book (Similar to Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword and the Brain Age games), and slip your left/right hand into the strap on the grip. You play songs by pressing the fret buttons in conjunction with the strumming, which you do by sliding the included pick stylus across the guitar on the touch screen. To activate star power (Which temporarily increases your score), you either tap the star power meter on the touch screen, or scream/blow/etc. into the microphone. However, there are two minor problems with the GG. First off, is that the grip is missing the orange fret button that, in the console versions, was used in the Hard and Expert difficulties. This wasn't a problem for me, since I could never reach said fret, but for some hardcore gamers, it may be a major loss. The second problem is that if you play the game too much, then you will more than likely get a few cramps; again, not a big problem for me, but when it does happen, my lord is it annoying. (In other words, TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS.)

Graphics

Since this is a music game, and you will spend most of the game focusing on the notes you must hit, the graphics shouldn't be important; however, Vicarious Visions completely ignored this and made the graphics as good as they could. The graphics aren't anything like the console games, of course, but they are some of the best graphics you'll see on the DS; the characters have great detail (Although they sometimes can look a bit "blocky." Yeah, I'm looking at you, Judy Nails.), and the venues are very detailed; for example, in the "Greek Arena" venue, instead of having a statue stay in place, the Medusa head is always moving.

Song Selection

This is probably the most important aspect of the game, alongside the playability. Since On Tour is a portable game, most people would assume that it wouldn't have alot of songs- well, those people are wrong; the game boasts 25 songs (Although a 26th song, I Am Not Your Gameboy by Freezepop, can be unlocked under certain conditions), and none of them have been shortened in length, as far as I know. This means that you can rock out to complete songs like Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar, This Love by Maroon 5, and Breed by Nirvana on road trips, or in lunch breaks. Six of the songs (Hit Me With Your Best Shot included) were previously featured in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, but luckily, now you won't have to listen to the atrocious cover of Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan that was in GH3. Sadly, the Freezepop song is the only bonus song, but that shouldn't get in your way of loving this game. Also, there are some songs that don't feel like they belong in the game, namely All Star by Smash Mouth (Although I still defend it as one of the best songs within the last decade) and Heaven by Los Lonely Boys.

Lasting Value

There's not much to say about the game in this section; it just lasts a long time. There are plenty of character outfits to buy in the store, and it'll probably take you awhile to get 100% on every song in Expert. That said, if the game's too short for you, then you can get the soon-to-be-released Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades, which will have different songs, but can interact with the original On Tour.

-----

Overall, Guitar Hero: On Tour is a great game. The graphics are awesome, there are a surprising amount of songs, and the Guitar Grip peripheral plays very well. There aren't many bad things to be said about the game, so go out and buy it. NOW.

Graphics: 9.5/10
Song Selection: 9.0/10
Controls: 8.5/10
Lasting Value: 9.5/10

Overall Score: 9.5/10

In terms of story and stuff, which scene or dialog you remember from a game as one of the best for you? Something you really liked. Maybe even deep. =P

I like when Ilia (that was her name, right? XD) gets hit by an arrow in TP; when all characters receive Tabuu's first off-waves and you think everything is lost in Brawl; and, of course, Fire Emblem death dialogues are all dramatic as well. I'm the tragic-liking kind of guy I guess. =S

Still, the best for me is the EarthBound scene when you first get all the melodies, before appearing in Magicant. You see an empty image walking, with King approaching it, then it goes upstairs, and you see baby bed. You then hear two persons talking about how they like their baby's name Ness, and how the cap fits him well. The father even mentions he will be a hard-worker just like his mom. I don't know why, but I found that scene really touching. I'd have cried if I wasn't so serious. D:

So, what's your ultra memorable scene?

Yeah, random topic, I know. x.x I got bored.

Anyways, I got several things for my b-day on Saturday (Yush, I'm FINALLY 14! =D):

- The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (NDS)
- The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night (Wii)
- Spyro: A Hero's Tail (GCN)
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (NDS)
- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)
- Soulcalibur II (GCN)
- Guitar Hero: On Tour (NDS)
- GCN controller
- GCN memory card

All of those games're pretty good (Except for TLoS:ANB), although I haven't been playing Prime 3 much. xD I got some money, too, so hopefully I can go and get the GCN version of Spyro: A New Beginning soon, instead of having to play the piece-of-crap version I have right now. x.x

ANYWAYS, back to what I was wanting to say. xD

This is just a thread where everyone can post their most recently-obtained games/game-related things/etc.
