It's hard to decide, but I think the original three are the best.

Nah, Feraligatr + Meganium ftw. They rule in competitive battling, and even in-game.

I actually liked the RS starters the best. Swampert's always been meh to me, but Treecko and Torchic and their evolutionary lines are some of my favorite Pokemon.

RS and DP starters are tied in term of competitive battling.
But I vote for the original one, they are more memorable.

The Kanto trio were first, but they are not special. D:
I just like Infernape and Swampert a lot, but the rest of their respective generation is a bit meh. As a whole, though, I guess the RS ones are my favorite.

Kanto - I love Charmander, I love Squirtle, and I love Venusaur. When I restart a Kanto game, I have such trouble deciding who to pick. It's so hard.
Johto - While I don't like these Pokémon as much as the originals, it's still hard for me to pick. Totodile is my favourite of the three but I like all the others too.
Hoenn - None of them really appealed to me. I picked Torchic because it was the cutest but I dislike its evolution. I dislike the evolutions of the others, too (and just plain dislike the Treeko line) but at least I like the first form of the Torchic line the best. :|
Sinnoh - I only like Piplup and I don't like its evolutions. I'm probably just going to trade in some Pokémon and ditch my starter in Platinum because I don't care about any of them. I've never done that in a game before. I hate hate haaaate Chimchar and its lineup.

Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile and their evolutions for me. I think their appearances are the best out of all the starters and Feraligatr was the first Pokemon I ever got to Lv.100 so I have some great memories with Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Really hoping for a remake.
