I remember thinking it was just hilarious when I bought DK64.

I haven't played DK, but I don't like the SSBM version or the N64 one, which I saw in a video. I don't even like rap, so maybe I'm not the best one to compare. xD
It was only funny with DK64 because it matched what the Kongs were doing. Take the visuals away and it becomes a song with terrible lyrics: "when he shoots ya it's gonna hurt!"
The lyrics are obviously silly on purpose. XD Much as the Kong's behaviour.
I don't like rap either, but I find it funny still. Gotta love the kongs.
